Gas Safe Registered Gas Central Heating engineer and repairer in Kent and East Sussex |
The Gas Safe Register replaced the CORGI gas register in Great Britain and the Isle of Man on 1 April 2009
To work on gas installations and appliances safely and legally, engineers have to be on the Gas Safe Register
The Gas Safe Register exists to protect you, your family, and your property from dangerous gas work. By law, anyone carrying out work on gas installations and appliances in your home must be on the Gas Safe Register. Be gas safe – always use a Gas Safe registered engineer. Always ask to see their Gas Safe Register ID card.
Only employ a Gas Safe registered engineer to carry out servicing or maintenance and to install gas appliances, boilers, hobs, ovens or fires in your home or workplace.
Why do I need to use a Gas Safe registered engineer?
It’s all about safety. If someone other than a Gas Safe registered engineer does the gas work in your home, you could be risking the safety of your family and your property.
Incorrectly fitted, badly repaired or poorly maintained gas appliances are a major cause of carbon monoxide poisoning. They can also lead to gas leaks and explosions. On average over 14 people a year die from carbon monoxide poisoning, and many more suffer health problems from carbon monoxide exposure directly related to gas. The poisoning effects of CO2 can cause brain damage and other serious health problems.
